Abstract

A set of partial differential rate equations is presented. These equations constitute a multimode model for the dynamics of a semiconductor laser. It is demonstrated that the model incorporates new features observed experimentally for the system. Some simple physical explanation for the results obtained utilizing these equations are presented.
