Abstract
The world of writing is a broad and diverse one. The multilingual of our title is meant to signify an important part of that diversity: the writers who negotiate multiple linguistic and cultural repertoires, the processes they engage in, and the texts they produce. The development of our title marks a second major aspect of that diversity: the variable learning of skills, strategies, and identities-whether by adults, adolescents, or children -needed to succeed in multilingual contexts.
