Abstract

Multilevel nonbinary LDPC-coded modulation has been proposed to reduce decoding complexity while maintaining the large-coding-gain performance desired for high-speed optical transmissions. Simulation results show the proposed scheme outperforms bit-interleaved LDPCcoded modulation by 0.65 dB.
