Abstract

Multidimensional signal constellation sets suitable for nonlinear phase noise dominated channel are proposed, where the cumulative log-likelihood-function is used as the optimization criterion. Also, we demonstrate that our proposed signal constellation sets significantly outperform polarization switched QPSK and sphere packing constellations in 8-ary case and 16-ary case.
