Abstract

An analysis of molecular design of single site catalyst precursors for the ring-opening polymerization of cyclic ethers and esters was performed. The occurrence of ring-opening polymerization of propylene oxide by Cis-migratory mechanism was also studied. The syntheses were carried out under an argon atmosphere and NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry were used for examining the polymers. The results revealed that stereoirregular polymer is formed by a stereoselective ring-opening step.
