Abstract

A numerical model based on microscopic many-body dynamics is used to simulate mode-locking and multi-wavelength operation in VECSELs. The electromagnetic field is propagated using Maxwell's equation and coupled to the semiconductor Bloch equations for QW carrier dynamics on the level of second Born Markov approximation.
