Abstract

It is theoretically predicted that the C^- ₅ electronic vertical excitations are metastable with respect to the electron ejection. The energies of the lowest ⁴Σ^- _u, ⁴Σ^- _g, ²Σ^- _u, ²Σ_g, ²Δ_u and ²Δ_g states evaluated using first-order correlation orbitals and the coupled cluster method are reported.
