Longitudinal Λ polarization, Ξ abundance and quark-gluon plasma formation

The relatively large abundance of Ξ expected to be a peculiar feature for the quark-gluon plasma formed in relativistic nuclear collisions can be readily observed by measuring the longitudinal polarization of Λ into which Ξ cascades.This characteristics Ξ-signature of the quark-gluon plasma is discussed.
