Abstract
The Langevin equation in k space was studied. As an example, argon was used for which the pair Lennard-Jones potential does not have a Fourier transform. Despite this fact, a way to study the properties of the friction kernel in momentum space was shown. The contributions of different values of k on the friction kernel were determined.
