Abstract
Ion exchanged waveguides and photowritten Bragg gratings were used to fabricate and add/drop filter. The device exhibits 20 dB extinction ratios and 3 dB bandwidths of 0.4 nm (100 GHz) and a polarization dependence of 0.25 nm. Grating optimization, a deep burial step, and optimization of the modes sensitivity to angular misalignment can be used to improve the performance.
