Abstract
The effect of grating based pulse stretcher/compressor (SC) on the carrier-envelope phase stability of femtosecond pulses was investigated. Controlled beam positioning fluctuations was introduced to distinguish between intrinsic SC effects and amplitude-to-phase conversion. The measurements allowed to place an upper limit on the sensitivity of the SC system. The results demonstrate that there is no strong coupling mechanism between CEP and beam pointing through a SC.
