This year, the award recipient was Dr Frank J. Veith, a world-renowned pioneer in vascular surgery. Dr Veith is Professor of Surgery and the William J. von Liebig Chair in Vascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic as well as a Professor of Surgery at New York University Medical Center. He is also the Chairman of the largest and most recognized vascular symposium in the world: the VEITH Symposium. Dr Veith gave an exciting and provocative lecture on “How can good randomized trials be so misinterpreted in leading journals?” This talk became the featured article for this supplement. His insight and prolific writing is guaranteed to be a must-read for all. ",
