Abstract
Bile duct calculi may be missed by cholangiography, particularly when the bile ducts are dilated. We present a case in which a common bile duct stone was not visualised on cholangiography, but was readily detected by intraductal ultrasound.4 Intraductal ultrasound is a new modality that may prove useful as a complement to cholangiography in detecting bile duct stones.
