Abstract
United States, regarded as leading innovator of the world, is required to maintain and continuously nurture its culture of innovation to preserve global economic leadership. Future engineers are required to be trained on the basis of some basic principles to be innovative. They should be exposed to the principles of engineering design at the early stage of their training. They should be made aware that design is a creative art form which applies the same principles of synthesis, fusion, abstraction, adaptation, transference, transformation, and invention that were employed in achieving the great innovations and movements in art, literature, music, government, biology, and computer among others. Future engineers should be exposed to and experience the high-technology industry and be prepared for life long intellectual curiosity, learning, and engagement. Each nation is required to have innovation in its citizens' culture to sustain in this globalized economy.
