Abstract

The imaging of giant extra-solar planets from the ground was discussed. The NASA's Terrestrial Planet Finder (TPF) will extend the search to earth-like planets. For planet searchers, each extra optical element contributes to the noisy thermal background. Nulling interferometry and adaptive correction to very high order were also elaborated.
