Abstract

An analysis of genes related to the expressed V_H region of anti-NP antibodies in C57BL/6 mice showed that 24 distinct genes could be grouped into 3 subfamilies. Some of these genes showed striking homology with a family found in BALB/c mice. The extension of diversity through gene conversion seems to be very important in the V_H family.
