Abstract

A mode-locked VECSEL employing a novel hybrid semiconductor saturable absorber/dielectric output coupler is reported. The linear cavity laser emits 410 femtosecond pulses at a repetition rate of 4.2 GHz operating at λ~ 1030 nm.
