Abstract
A solid-state two-dimensional charge-coupled device (CCD) is found to offer several advantages to the detection of chemiluminescence from luminol. To study these benefits, measurements of luminol emission with hydrogen peroxide and transition-metal ions were made in a continuous flow mode. A mixture of metal ions separated by cation-exchange chromatography was also observed with chemiluminescence. A new technique, simultaneous variable binning, applied to the transient light emission leads to outstanding dynamic range.
