How to optical design with freeform surfaces

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingConference contribution

Abstract

This talk presents three examples that use freeform surfaces to accomplish aberration correction. In the first example the design of a two mirror telescope is discussed with emphasis in the efficient use of free form surfaces. The second example shows how the design process of a ring field system benefits from the proper choice of freeform surfaces. The final example discusses free form surfaces for certifying null correctors.
