Abstract
A general method for the chromatographic resolution of diastereomeric α-hydroxycycloalkanone ketals derived from 1,4-di-O-benzyl-L-threitol is reported. Separability is thought to result from differences in intramolecular hydrogen bonding for the two diastereomeric forms.
