N2 - Non-mechanical beam scanner such as phase array are very attractive for LIDAR application. Unfortunately their angular span is limited to a few degree due to their relatively large pitch (Bragg's law). By multiplexing holograms in a thick material we demonstrated that it is possible to achieve a high angular selectivity so that multiple incident angles are diffracted toward different directions. This process can effectively amplify the angular span of phase arrays and cover up to 4π steradian.
