Abstract

The holographic disk approach allows for an easy access to a large area of data storage media, and therefore, is more suitable for high capacity applications. The holographic disks storage system developed within DARPA Holographic Data Storage Systems consortium includes hardware implemented channel decoding providing high transfer rate (1 Gbit/sec) and high capacity storage (>100 Gbit per 6.5 disk).
