Abstract
A study was conducted to characterize the electrophysiological consequences of the null mutation of Cx40 gene (Cx40-/-) on impulse propagation in the specialized conduction system. High-resolution resolution video maps of voltage-dependent fluorescence from the ventricular epicardium and the right bundle (RBB) were obtained using a high-speed CCD camera while simultaneously recording volume conducted ECGs. The data represent the first direct demonstration of conduction defects in the specialized conduction system of Cx40-/-mice.
