Ghost Stories from the Academy: A Trans Feminine Reckoning

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Here, authors provide a snapshot of their manuscript, and which readers often overlook, causing some authors to repeat the abstract in the main body of their texts. Like foot-and endnotes, abstracts are shadow texts. In these shadows, we as trans feminine people keep some of the more painful moments of our existence, not wanting to feed nontrans fetishized narratives of our being tragic figures. In a queer move, though, we also use the shadows as spaces to bloom with each other, to feel and be together, despite unending hypersurveillance. This manuscript is a reckoning with these ghosts, these ethereal (im)possibilities.
