Abstract

BER performance of GLDPC codes outperforming currently known turbo and LDPC coding schemes utilized in optical communication systems is analyzed. Largest so far reported coding gain of at least 11 dB (at 40 Gb/s with 23.6% of redundancy) is demonstrated.
