Abstract
The exact, closed-form representations for the transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (TM) time-domain, surface impedance were derived. The analysis was started from the known surface impedance expressions in the frequency-domain. Exact, closed-form solutions were obtained for the surface impedances in the time-domain by analytically carrying out the inverse Laplace transforms. The results show that the solution for the TE surface impedance involves modified Bessel functions.
