Abstract

In the present review, we provide an overview of connexin expression during skin development and remodeling in wound healing, and reflect on how lossor gain-of-function connexin mutations may change cellular phenotypes and lead to diseases of the skin. We also consider the therapeutic value of targeting connexins in wound healing.
