Abstract

The differences in the frequency domain behavior between solid/solid plane pairs and solid/gridded planes in low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) modules were investigated. A simplified model for wire-trace type of solid-gridded power/ground plane was used for the purpose. The wire-trace model was based on the transmission line model for solid-solid plane pair structures. The use of the simplified transmission line model with a hybrid simulation technique reduced the simulation time and produced very good whole structure simulation.
