title = "Folded monopole antenna over an artificial magnetic conductor for chip-to-chip communications",
abstract = "A folded monopole antenna over an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) plane is investigated for chip-to-chip communication. The analysis of dipole antennas over AMCs revealed that designing the reflection phase of the AMC corresponding to the input impedance of the antenna element without the AMC is important for impedance matching. Based on the result, a prototype using a printed circuit board was designed. This antenna is a good candidate for chip-to-chip communication, because it has a ground shield which prevents the radiation energy from coupling into lossy silicon and it has the radiation pattern toward another chip.",
