Abstract
Flood flows in such rivers produce phenomenally high flow velocity, shear stress, and stream power per unit area. Documents considerable field experience and observations of bedrock channel sedimentation in China, northern Australia, and the southwestern United States. In addition, recent flume experiments on the flood slackwater sedimentation are described. -from Editors
