Abstract

Recently, techniques for dealing with dynamical fermions have advanced to the stage where one can do finite temperature simulations on reasonably sized lattices. Topics of interest include the nature of the quark-gluon plasma and that of the chiral symmetry restoring transition. We have measured the response of the quark number density to an infinitesimal chemical potential and found a signal consistent with a plasma of light quarks. Studies of finite temperature chiral symmetry restoration with two and four flavors of dynamical quarks are also presented.
