Abstract

Fatigue reliability evaluations are presented which specifically use the S-N curve and linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) approaches. The basic random variables in both approaches are identified and their statistical characteristics are quantified. A parametric sensitivity analysis is also performed. It is shown with the help of an example that the two approaches produce similar results.
