Abstract
Thorough understanding of the many-particle effects in four-wave-mixing (FWM) can only be achieved from a strict justification as well as extension of the phenomenological many-body concepts on the basis of a fully microscopic theory. This article discusses the results of such a study. The results include theoretical identification, careful numerical analysis of all matrix elements entering the excitonic X-theory and a comparison with experimental data from the literature.
