Abstract

The authors regret that we have missed acknowledging the original source of Fig. 3a and Table 3 (photoautotrophic conditions). The following addition in italics needs to be made to properly acknowledge the source. Fig. 3. Changes over time in CO2 concentrations inside and outside the vessel during 6 weeks of storage. The broccoli plantlets were cultured (a) photoautotrophically (without sugar in the medium) (Kubota and Kozai, 1994; with the permission granted by the American Society for Horticultural Science) and (b) photomixotrophically (with sugar in the medium). Vertical lines represent standard deviations. For details of the experiments, see Table 2 and the text. Table 3. Chlorophyll concentrations on a leaf dry weight (DW) basis (Cc) and chlorophyll fluorescence parameter fmax/f0 of the plantlets before and after 3 or 6 weeks of storage, when cultured photoautotrophically or photomixotrophically. The values shown are means ± SD. The data collected under photoautotrophic conditions (Kubota and Kozai, 1994) are presented with the permission granted by the American Society for Horticultural Science). The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience ca
