Engineering the Point-spread-function for super-resolution from multiple low-resolution sub-pixel shifted frames

Abstract

We propose engineering the optical point-spread-function to overcome the detector-limited resolution of a digital imager. We show that an imager with an optimized point-spread-function can achieve a 50% resolution improvement over a conventional lens-only imager.
