title = "Energy efficient pump station operation with a pump switching constraint",
abstract = "Pump operation scheduling has become a significant practical and research concern as utilities increase their computer usage. This paper presents an integer programming algorithm which is capable of developing an operation schedule for a single tank system which does not contain a large number of pumps. The objective is to minimize pump operation costs while limiting the number of pump switches within an on-line model. The objective of the optimization problem is to provide a schedule for pump operations over the planning horizon that will yield the lowest energy cost.",
