Abstract

Electro-optic waveguides were fabricated from organic chromophore doped hybrid sol-gel through an all-wet process. The waveguide has good optical confinement at 1550 nm and shows stable electro-optic performance. The results indicate that the hybrid sol-gel is promising medium for the electro-optic devices and components with low cost, easy processing, and fabrication flexibility.
