Abstract

Three columns were added in the education issues for the year 2000. The column focussing on pedagogical topics was expected to alternate with a new column on professional development that will provide advice on professional skills and career development. Societies such as the Optical Society of America (OSA) took an active role in assisting in the development of youth.
