Abstract
A phytochemical investigation of the methanolie extract of the inner root bark of Kokoona zeylanica Thwaites (Celastraceae) has resulted in the isolation and identification of dulcitol and (−)-4′-O-methylepigallocatechin. The chemotaxonomic significance and biological activity of dulcitol are discussed.
