note = "Funding Information: The International BRI Symposia were initiated 30 years ago and are staged every five years through the work of a group of volunteers with interest in the field. The previous meetings were hosted in Turku, Finland (1975), Guildford, England (1980), College Park, Maryland (1985), Tucson, Arizona (1990), Munich, Germany (1995), and Paris, France (2000). Terrence J. Monks (University of Arizona) and Trevor Penning (University of Pennsylvania) were the co-chairmen of BRI VII. The meeting was co-sponsored by the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center and the American Chemical Society—Division of Chemical Toxicology. The organizers are grateful for the additional financial support provided by AstraZeneca (Stockholm), BIO5 (University of Arizona), Eli Lilly and Co., GlaxoSmithKline USA, Merck and Co., Inc., the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences, Pfizer Inc., Sanofi-Aventis USA, the U.S. Society of Toxicology, and Ventana Medical Systems Inc.
