Abstract

A study on droplet nucleation and domain wall motion in a bounded interval was performed. A classical Ginzburg-Landau model as a spatially extended model of noise-induced magnetization reversal was studied and restricted to a bounded interval and perturbed by a weak spatiotemporal noise. The dependence of the activation barrier and kramers rate prefactor on the interval length was determined by adapting the Coleman-Langer approach to false vacuum decay. It was shown that a rich structure of activation regimes separated by phase transition was yielded.
