title = "Disability and rehabilitation: A context for understanding the American Indian experience",
author = "Marshall, {Catherine A.} and Largo, {Hoskie R.}",
note = "Funding Information: From a research perspective, examples of the diversity of responses to questions about disability among American Indians are taken from two urban studies done at the American Indian Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (AIRRTC), at Northern Arizona University, funded by the US Department of Education, National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. The centre was founded in 1983, and provides national leadership in research, training, and technical assistance about the needs of American Indians with disabilities. An interest in the needs of urban American Indians with disabilities has long been an interest of the AIRRTC, given US census data that show that most American Indians live in urban or off-reservation areas.
