Abstract

A clearer understanding of structure-function relationships of protein hormone-receptor systems is emerging from the increased use of molecular biology approaches. On the other hand, the introduction of rationally designed conformational constraints into peptide hormones and neurotransmitters is leading to the development of highly receptor-selective ligands that allow further investigations into the topographic modulation of their bioactivities and rational design principles for peptide antagonists.
