Abstract

Two metamaterial-inspired electrically small antennas are designed, one an electric-based EZ antenna and the other a magnetic-based EZ antenna. These antennas are then combined in a highly subwavelength array, i.e., the distance of separation between the antennas is the radius of the radiansphere of each electrically small antenna. Reasonably high overall efficiency of this densely packed array is demonstrated.
