Abstract
This entry addresses age-related changes that influence communication between younger and older people. These include physical and psychological aspects of aging, as well as social and identity related concerns, as well as addressing contexts of cross-generational communication such as family, healthcare, and culture. The entry discusses positive and negative aspects of aging and attempts to differentiate myth from reality in understanding when and why cross-generational communication succeeds and fails.
