Abstract
The suggestions for assessing entreprenuerial opportunities in the computing and IT industries are discussed. Corporations should look for rapid growth rate as markets are particularly attractive when high growth rates are combined with barriers to entry. They should focus on niches and attempt to serve them as quickly as possible, avoiding lengthy development cycles and grandiose visions for market domination. Further, corporations should keep costs under control using new accounting techniques such as activity-based information systems.
