Abstract

This paper provides insight into calibrating a systems engineering cost model (COSYSMO) by providing a process that organizations can follow to improve their estimation accuracy. A specific example is provided from Raytheon Missile Systems to illustrate how data are collected and how they influence the cost estimating relationship. The results from this specific case are generalized to other organizations who wish to improve their cost estimation capabilities in systems engineering.
