Abstract
To the Editor: We have identified errors in our paper, “Altered Platelet Calcium Metabolism as an Early Predictor of Increased Peripheral Vascular Resistance and Preeclampsia in Urban Black Women” (Aug. 16, 1990, issue).* Errors in the platelet intracellular calcium levels and the responses to arginine vasopressin (AVP) and thrombin resulted from miscalculation of the AVP and thrombin responses for each sampling period (i.e., the responses calculated by dividing the peak calcium value by the basal value and expressing the result as a percentage increase). In addition, 4 of the 14 patients assigned to the preeclampsia group had proteinuria of less.
