Abstract
This paper describes a computer controlled data acquisition system which measures V̄(E), P(ET)CO2, P100 and also generates the signal for controlling the airway occlusion valve. The data are stored on disk and can be recalled for editing and plotting or statistical analysis. The system has the advantage of being portable, thus giving an anesthesiologist the flexibility of being able to measure patient responses in the operating room and or recovery room.
