Abstract

Two constructs for modeling complex objects, composite and grouping, are examined. It is shown that these are necessary and useful in modeling real-world complex objects by analyzing their structural and behavioral semantics. The notions of composite and grouping inheritance are introduced. The analysis illustrates how the proper employment of composite and grouping can lead to more effective modeling of an application.
